For three decades, Fr Herman Borg a member of the Order of Friars Minor (OFM), has planted over one million trees in the Subukia Valley in Nakuru. Fr Borg arrived in Africa in April 19, 1983 and was posted to the OFM Mission in Lower Subukia.
“The environment in Subukia was bad. People were suffering from very little produce due to poor climatic conditions. A good number of people would migrate to find suitable land for farming and that posed a pastoral challenge,” he says.
