Childhood Friends: From Altar Servers to Priesthood

The story of Rt. Rev Bishop Willybard Lagho, now bishop of Malindi would be incomplete without the mentioning of Fr Faustin Mshila, his cousin and confrere.  The two, both grandsons of Mzee James Lagho and Lucia Whuganga, were ordained on the same day April 25, 1987 at Mgange Dawida Parish, Taita in the Catholic Archdiocese of Mombasa.

They come from the same village, their homes barely 100 meters apart and belong to the same Small Christian Community of St. Ambrose. Interestingly the two are also age mates; one born in March the other in August 1958.
