On May 16 Consolata Missions around the world held masses for the repose of the souls of ten priests, two nuns, and a retired bishop from Kenya who succumbed to the novel corona virus in Italy. The clergy men and aged between 72 – 98, and sisters aged 69, 94 died in the period between March and May 2020 as Covid-19 ravaged Italy infecting 227,000 people and leaving over 32,000 people dead. Italy was one of the first countries in Europe to experience a mass corona virus outbreak.
