When Fr Jared Makori IMC got ordained priest in October 2017, he was surprised when he was not posted to any destination as expected of every missionary in his congregation.
Little did he know that he would be part of the pioneer Consolata Missionaries to Madagascar, alongside Fr Kizito Mukalazi from Uganda, and Fr Jean Tuluba, from Congo DRC.
The island, located off the south-east coast of Africa, was far from his wildest guess for a first assignment.
“I was in Kisii when my superior called and asked me to find a time and place where we could talk undisturbed and make sure I was seated,” he says.
