52-year-old Elizabeth Kabon, a mother of 10 lives with her family on a one-acre piece of land in Kaptarakwa village in the semi-arid Baringo South sub county. The area receives little rainfall and for the longest time she survived on growing maize and beans and rearing a few goats. Life before 2018 was a hassle as she struggled to feed her large family especially when rains failed and her crops failed, leaving them with nothing to eat or sell. Her family would depend on well-wishers for relief food.
