When Pope John Paul II erected the Catholic Diocese of Nyahururu on December 5 2002, he appointed a Fidei Donum priest from Italy, Fr Luigi Paiaro, to be its first bishop.
Today, the see that was inaugurated on March 25 2003, remains the youngest diocese in Kenya, comprising of Nyandarua County, Laikipia West Sub county of Laikipia County, and Muchongoi Sub-county of Baringo County.
At the time of his appointment, Bishop Paiaro had been working in Kenya for 40 years. He arrived on February 29, 1963….
