St. John Paul II Sabbatical Center Murang’a: Where Men and Women Religious Rejuvenate

“I needed to be somewhere without any responsibilities. I felt that if I took up another apostolate, I was not going survive. I had become irritable and would react to slight provocations with outbursts of anger. The fatigue affected my overall health, physically, spiritually and emotionally,” Sr Rita Miriti of the Missionary Sisters of the Holy Family confides.

Working in the Catholic Diocese of Malindi, Sr Rita had such a tight schedule in her teaching apostolate that at times she would fail to go for her annual three week holiday. The hostile climate and community of predominantly non-Christians made her apostolate stressful and strenuous.

    For personal communal and spiritual rejuvenation. A place to rethink, recollect, meditate on your next phase of life (spring) walking a new transformed, rested, prayerful life. Its a place all who are tired and wearied should come to find strength again to continue the witnessing of Christ.
