The term ‘blended family’ hints at complexity. In a blended family, one or both spouses already have children prior to the marriage, perhaps as a single parent, as a widow or widower, or as an adoptive parent. Additionally, the two may have children together.
When talking about food or drink, a blend refers to a mixture of different flavours. A smoothie blends different textures and flavours, such as banana, strawberries and orange juice, into a delicious and nutritious drink.
