The day was June 4, 2022 and Rt. Rev. John Mbinda C.S.S.p., the man of the moment was lost in a procession of priests, bishops and archbishops all dressed in red vestments. The choice of red vestments, branded with the fiery tongues of fire was apt; it was the eve of Pentecost Sunday when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles, but the red vestments also helped mark the presence of the Holy Ghost Missionaries (the Spiritans) which the bishop elect belongs to.
The installation and the episcopal ordination of the fourth bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Lodwar at the historical Ekales Cultural Center, Tobong Lore, in the outskirts of Lodwar town was a sight to behold.
The congregants came out adorned in cultural ceremonial costumes made from animal skin fitted with decorative beads and beaded necklaces and armbands.
