On August 4, 2019, Fr Peter Munguti Makau, took over as the Regional Superior of the Consolata Missionaries is Kenya and Uganda. Originally from the Catholic Diocese of Machakos, he comes back to Kenya after 20 years of missionary work in Congo, and Venezuela. Lourine Oluoch interviews him on the challenges, hopes and way forward for the region.
Who is Fr Makau?
I am a Consolata missionary, a religious for the last 20 years and a priest for 15 years. I did my formation here in Kenya, and my theology in the Democratic Republic of Congo. When I was ordained I was sent to work in Venezuela where I was for the last 14 years. I was then sent here to Kenya as the Regional Superior.
