One can hardly speak of the Blessed Virgin Mary’s intercession for the world without mentioning Fatima, a major centre of pilgrimage, 125 kilometres north of Lisbon the capital city of Portugal.
In 1917, the village of Fatima became a world sensation after the apparitions of Mother Mary to three young shepherds: Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta; ages 7, 9, and 10. It is reported that from May through to October 1917, Our Lady appeared and spoke to the children on the 13th day of each month.
