The Holy Father has granted the celebration of the Rite of Beatification of the Venerable Sister Maria Carola Cecchin, of the Congregation of the Sisters of St Joseph Cottolengo on Saturday, November 5, 2022, in Meru, Kenya.
The announcement, which was made on March 11 by the Superior General of the Sisters of Cottolengo, Mother Elda Pezzuto, together with the Father General of the Little House, Father Carmine Arice, and the Superior General of the Cottolengo Brothers, Brother Giuseppe Visconti, while in Kenya for the 50th Anniversary Jubilee celebrations of the return of the Cottolengo Family to Africa, disclosed that the Mass will be presided over by Archbishop Emeritus of Nairobi, John Cardinal Njue who will represent Pope Francis.
