One of the most epic sibling rivalries in biblical history was over a coat. A multicoloured coat, to be precise, but still just a coat.

But it wasn’t really just about Joseph’s coat, was it?

Any one of us who has experienced sibling rivalry knows deep down that it’s not necessarily about the coat, the shoes, the birthday gift, or even the plot of land in the will that the favoured sibling got.
